Effective Date: July 17, 2026
At PageSnap, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how PageSnap ("we," "our," or "the extension") handles user data and permissions when you use our Chrome extension.
Information We Collect (Zero Data Collection)
PageSnap does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, browsing history, or user information.
No Server Uploads: All screenshot captures, image stitching, and vector drawings are processed entirely inside your local browser context.
No Analytics or Tracking: We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics services.
No Accounts: You do not need to create an account or sign in to use any features of the extension.
How Captured Data is Handled (Local Storage)
When you capture a webpage, the screenshot slices are temporarily saved inside your browser's local client-side database (IndexedDB).
Automatic Deletion: As soon as the editor tab loads and compiles the final stitched image, the temporary screenshot data is permanently deleted from IndexedDB.
User Exports: The final images are downloaded directly to your local downloads folder when you trigger the export action.
Chrome Extension Permissions Used
To function correctly, PageSnap requests the following browser permissions. We only use these permissions to provide the core functionality:
activeTab: Used strictly to capture the visible screen area of the webpage you actively select to screenshot. We do not access background tabs or pages you are not viewing.
scripting: Used to safely scroll the active page step-by-step to capture full-page height documents.
storage: Used to save your manual theme setting (Light or Dark mode layout preference) so it remains consistent next time you launch the extension.
unlimitedStorage: Used to allow storing larger full-page screenshot chunks inside your local browser's IndexedDB database without triggering system warnings.
Third-Party Services and Sharing
PageSnap does not share any data (captures, annotations, settings, or otherwise) with third-party companies, advertisers, or servers. All operations are 100% self-contained and run locally in your Chrome client.
